Production and hosting online events

Building live, online, global conferences in the middle of a pandemic for Colleges Live and Interconnect.

The world of corporate and brand events can leave a lot of audiences feeling cold. Disconnected content, no clear storyline, and speakers lacking sparkle. But they can also feel too slick, too polished. They lack authenticity. We challenge our clients to think differently about their live events, particularly when delivered online.

We’ve been running live events, meetings and conferences using virtual technology for a number of years. But in 2020 it’s been the core of our work. Early on in the year we ran a number of global conferences called Interconnect, which featured speakers and an audience from around the world. As a result of watching those events the team at The Association of Colleges saw an opportunity to expand their offering to create an event for students. The result was Colleges Live.

The event was run over two and a half hours with an audience of thousands of UK students. We featured live conversations, interviews and video with specialists from Brazil, the US and the UK. Our guests included 80s synth pop icon Midge Ure, astronaut Charlie Duke, climate activist Ana Carolina Correa, and gymnast Max Whitlock. Given our experience of running online events we were able to act as emcee/host and technical producer. The event was a great success and we’re looking forward to more in 2021.
